Bovec gained its reputation in the world as "outdoor mecca". There are several reasons for this there are same thing we must point out:

• Soca river; famous for its emerald colour ( green and blue ), it's a big playground for many people. Mostly it's famous for rafting and kayak trips. Constant flow of people pushing their paddles on the river increased the offer of other water sports activites like hydrospeed, inflatable kayaks, etc  In the morning or evening fishermen head onto river, trying to cath the famous Soča trout
• Kanin - Sella nevea ski resort; was linked in season 2009-2010, consists out of two ski resorts: Kanin ( Slovenia) and Sella Nevea (Italy). Both resorts use one ski pass for skiing on both sides. The ski resort is the main point of attraction in winter time, while in past years they offer also some summer activities like lifting up bikes to the mountain, pasenger shuttle to mountain, etc.
• Unspoilt nature and beatiful mountain scenery; make the place like "out-of-the-book"; Bovec is also located on outskirts of Triglav National Park, biggest slovenian natural park, where the make speacial effort to keep the nature and wildlife pristine
• History; is like the icing on a cake! over the centries many people and nations traveled through the aera, leaving their marks in the valley; Nevertheless the biggest story in the whole area is about 1st world war and its Soca front - a black spot in our history, from which we can learn a lot - it offered also a lot of technical solutions, man power and will to make changes.

If you like nature and outdoor activites, then "what to do here" is is not a real question. But still we would like to give you some information about possible activities you can do in Bovec and Soca valley. Basicaly we have divided this page into three sections - summer, winter, spirng & autumn.
